Our top 7 venues and styling ideas for your engagement party
If you’re reading this, we’re assuming that you’ve recently got engaged. So let’s start by saying congratulations!
This is such an exciting time of your life, one that deserves all the love and thought into planning that special engagement party to celebrate with your
friends and loved ones.
It’s no secret that here in Noosa (and the rest of the Sunshine Coast), you’re spoilt for choice with beautiful venues who are skilled and experienced
in hosting engagement parties. And we’ve styled and set-up at each of these locations many times.
So we thought we’d share a few with you of our favourite venues and we have even suggested the perfect style if you wanted to create a unique and fun theme.
Here are our top 7 venues and styling ideas for your engagement party:
Noosa Boathouse Sunset Bar
This has to be the most romantic venue on the Sunshine Coast to watch the sun go down. The aptly named Sunset Bar atop Noosa Boathouse has panoramic views
of the Noosa River - and their cocktail menu is next level. As one of three private function spaces offered by Noosa Boathouse, the private indoor
bar and large open air balcony offer the perfect space to enjoy drinks and canapes with all your favourite people to celebrate your recent engagement.
Suggested theme: Tropical Luxe
The venue offers the ideal atmosphere to host a tropical themed party. Keep it classy with white and natural furnishings, green and blue glassware, touches of bronze, bright blooms and lots (and lots!) of greenery. The Sunset Bar does an amazing Pina Colada - the perfect option for your welcome drink!
Sofitel - The Cabanas or The Riviera Bar and Lounge
The Sofitel has two luxe options to choose from for your engagement party in Noosa. The Cabanas offer a glamorous poolside venue under french-style umbrellas
and luxurious sun lounges. While The Riviera Bar and Lounge offers perfect views over Noosa river while you sip champagne and eat from the beautifully
curated french-inspired menu. Decisions, decisions.
Suggested theme: French, obviously
The Cabanas have a more relaxed vibe and are the perfect location for a bit of fun french flair. Keep it simple and consider adding wow factors like champagne
fountains and floral installations. The Riviera Bar and Lounge offer a more formal option. Create a pastel-hued luxe soiree using fine finishes of
bronze and gold, geometric shapes, quality napery and gorgeous blooms of peonies and roses. Oh and you can’t ever have too many candles.
Pier 33
If harbour views float your boat, then Pier 33 is the ideal engagement venue for you. With panoramic waterfront views of the Mooloolaba Marina, you can
toast your new engagement in style while enjoying the gorgeous seafood they have on offer. Ps. Their signature cocktails are epic.
Suggested theme: Nautical
Pier 33 already boasts a sophisticated nautical theme, so it makes sense to run with it for your special event. Make it glamorous with touches of gold,
navy, soft blooms and then add some interesting features using materials like rope, shell and driftwood.
Miss Moneypenny’s
Set upon Hastings Street in Noosa and just a stone throw away from one of Australia's most beautiful beaches, Miss Moneypenny’s is the perfect venue for
a stylish and intimate gathering. Choose to go formal and enjoy their famous banquet dining; or opt for their share-style packages in the lounge area
and open decks. Either way the food is engagement-worthy!
Suggested theme: Speakeasy
Miss Moneypenny’s offers the perfect venue to have fun with a Speakeasy theme, which is both playful and intriguing. Think jazz, whiskey barrels and gangster-flapper
style. But keep it classy with fine vintage and lots of gold, glass, fairy lights and white feathers or pampas grass.
The Catalina Noosa
I think you’ll agree that an engagement party on a large luxury boat sailing the Noosa River, is about as epic as it gets. Let the wind play in your hair
as you watch the sun go down over the water, sip champagne on the upper deck and dance under the stars with your lover. I think the rest speaks for
itself!
Suggested theme: Maimi White
Out on the Noosa river surrounded by the beauty of nature, a simple theme of Miami White is all you need for The Catalina. Lots of white with some soft
hues of blue and green, plentiful greenery and a few subtle touches of brass and natural finishes will round up this theme beautifully. Beyond that,
an orange sunset will be all you need.
Sunshine Beach Surf Club
The newly renovated Sunshine Beach Surf Club is about as beach-front as they come. Just a stone throw away from the beautiful white sandy beach, kick off
your engagement celebrations with canapes and drinks on the Ocean Lawn before heading upstairs to the Ocean View function room to dance the night away.
Suggested theme: Palm Beach Style
An eclectic mix of mid-century furnishings, bold patterns, palms, shells, coconuts and striking colours like pink, blue and emerald green. There’s a lot
of fun that can be had here - especially if you throw a make-your-own cocktail station into the mix.
Your own backyard
Sometimes you just want the comfort and ease of your own home - and what better place to celebrate with the people you love most in the world. You’ll be
amazed by what you can do to create a fun yet stylish atmosphere. We’re experts at transforming your backyard into an insta-worthy space for an unforgettable
engagement party.
Suggested theme: Modern Boho
The Modern Boho theme was made for your backyard. Low-set tables, moroccon rugs, cane furnishings, dried florals, lanterns and low strung lights, all complemented with a burnt orange and burgundy colour theme. If you wanted to go all out, you could always throw in an epic Tipi.
